Afficher GR653 sur une carte plus grande
IndicationsWith more than 900 kilometres of trails, the GR653 between Arles and Somport remains one of the major paths of the Saint James' Way. This path, called the Southern path, reveals invaluable natural and cultural treasures. The road is a link between the Mediterranean and Atlantic paths, with L’Isle-Jourdain at the entrance of the Gers as the first stopover after Toulouse. The Gascon heritage of L’Isle-Jourdain is still very clear, even if its architecture has been influenced by that of Toulouse. This circuit will take you through a full panorama of the verdant hillsides at the base of the Pyrénées to Auch, capital of Gascony. A beautiful road that passes through bastides and castelnaux, it reveals a number of treasures before its final Gers-based stopover in Marciac, the jazziest bastide of all.
